Sorry for missing your email for a year, but i played the game and its really good. the UFO moves a bit fast when going up for a while, would be nice for some more tighter controls. Or at least less sensitivity on movement. Also PLEASE add more music. there is only one song that loops for the entire game, and its kind of maddening. The intro music is the best.
The progression of level design was superb. The adding of new unexpected elements, like the red enemy constantly exploding to clear out the blocks on the last or penultimate level was genius.
Continue to always innovate on previous ideas and throw in something new/crazy.
You already have a good handling on interesting game design. UFO games aren't exactly original, so don't ever be afraid of making something truly new.
ME and my chat love your game. keep up the great work.
This picture is how happy i was to play your game.
im uploading my gameplay soon, if you want to see it.
I just watched your stream and thought it was great. Sorry about the music, I had to change it last second because I didn't actually make it and I realised that the songs I was using before had been copyrighted but I will make sure to do better in the future. Thanks for checking out my game.
The game has a pretty original idea, you play as a UFO going around kidnapping stuff (in the cutest way possible). It’s a safe yet clever concept for a dev starting out. The whole thing takes about 10 minutes to finish, which is perfect for a short indie experience. Even me, with my shit ass skill, managed to reach the end, so that’s a win in my book.
The design is adorable overall. Honestly, if it wasn’t for the description, I would’ve thought that was a dog, not a cow. The mechanics are simple to pick up, and I like how each stage introduces new mechanics gradually so players can get used to them. I’ve played a lot of indie games, some forget to do this, some don’t pull it off well, but you nailed it here. Nicely done.
Now for a few suggestions: the music loops, and there’s only one track throughout the game. I’d recommend adding a few slow ambient tracks, especially if you ever plan to include more chill, slow paced levels. Lighting also feels inconsistent, some stages are darker, some brighter, not sure if that’s intentional. The “Next Stage” banner pops up a bit too fast, so maybe slow that down, and adding a short “Congratulations” message after each level would be a nice little ego boost for the player (wink).
As for controls, the UFO’s movement overshoots a bit, but it still fits the game’s chaotic charm. The speed ramps up quickly, maybe that’s intentional since there are environmental hazards, but it’s something to watch. The difficulty spike at Stage 4 is wild, though. The farmer’s attack speed is too high right out of the gate. Maybe start with one farmer at a slower rate and then ramp it up in later levels.
Overall, I like the game, it’s short, it’s fun, and it’s not just brain off fun. Keep it up, you’re onto something good here. You’re gonna make it big someday.
Thanks for all that, I will make sure to use advice like that for future projects. I also just checked out your video and tbh you're probably better at the game than I am but I just still feel amazed a real youtuber played my game. Just thanks a lot.
